ESMA Registration

ARC Ratings, S.A. was a registered by the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) effective 25th August 2011.
The European rating regulation is based on Regulation (EC) No 1060/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council, of 16 September 2009, amended by Regulation (EU) No 513/2011 of the European Parliament and of the Council, of 11 May 2011, and Regulation (EU) 462/2013 of the European Parliament and of the Council, of 21 May 2013. FCA Registration

ARC Ratings (UK) Limited was registered by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) effective 1st January 2021 in accordance with the Statutory Instrument Nº 266/2019, of 13 February 2019 (The Credit Rating agencies (Amendment, etc.) (EU Exit) Regulations 2019). ECAI Status

ARC Ratings, S.A. and ARC Ratings (UK) Limited are accredited as an External Credit Assessment Institutions (ECAI), according to the provisions of Regulation (EU) No 575/2013 of the European Parliament and of the Council and Directive 2013/36/EU of the European Parliament and the Council.

ECAI status means ARC Ratings’ ratings can be used for capital relief purposes under the standardised and ratings based approach, as well as under Solvency II, using the exact same mappings as the ones accorded to the “big 3” CRAs, according to the following European Commission decisions:

– Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2016/1801, for Securitisation Positions;

– Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2016/1799, for Corporate/Issuer Ratings; and

– Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2016/1800, for Solvency Capital Requirements.
