ARC Ratings and CMS Successfully Host Ship Finance & Securitisation Seminar at Hong Kong Maritime Week 2025

Hong Kong, 20 November 2025 – ARC Ratings (Asia Pacific) Limited (“ARCAP”), in collaboration with CMS Hong Kong LLP (“CMS”), proudly announces the successful conclusion of its seminar on Ship Finance and Securitisation, held during Hong Kong Maritime Week on 19 November 2025.

The seminar featured insightful presentations and discussions on the evolving landscape of maritime finance, including:

CMS Overview and Capabilities – Conor Warde from CMS introduced the firm’s expertise in ship finance and securitisation.

ARC Ratings Introduction – Joyce Chi, CEO of ARC Ratings APAC, highlighted ARC’s global rating capabilities and structured finance leadership.

Ship Finance Structures – Conor Warde provided an overview of traditional financing models such as bank lending and leasing.

Securitisation Structures – Kingsley Ong from CMS explained the fundamentals of securitisation and its application in shipping.

Ship Securitisation: Main Presentation – Wenjie Chen from ARC delivered a deep dive into securitisation as a pathway to transform shipping into an investable, rated asset class, supported by ARC’s proprietary modelling and case studies.

The event concluded with a lively panel discussion, moderated by Conor Warde, exploring market adoption challenges, diversification strategies, and investor confidence in ship securitisation. Audience Q&A further enriched the dialogue, underscoring strong interest in innovative financing solutions for the shipping industry.

The seminar reaffirmed Hong Kong’s position as a leading hub for maritime finance and innovation, paving the way for greater collaboration between rating agencies, legal advisors, and industry stakeholders.
